Architectural Technology Awards 2017
[edit] Introduction
On 15 September 2017, Designing Buildings Wiki attended the first stand-alone Architectural Technology Awards.
The annual awards of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) celebrate the latest achievements and highest quality in architectural technology. The event, hosted by BBC journalist and presenter Matt Allwright, showcased architectural technology both in practise and as a key academic discipline, demonstrating the growth and impact of the discipline within the UK and internationally.
Beneath the vaulted brick roof of Village Underground in east London, guests from across the built environment sector were treated to canapes, cocktails and live jazz.
The 2017 winners were:
[edit] The Award for Excellence in Architectural Technology
Winner:
The Word, National Centre for the Written Word, FaulknerBrowns Architects
The Word was a challenging project that inspired a building for the present, with built-in adaptability to future proof its functions.
