BSRIA expands publications team with major hire
BSRIA, a leading provider of testing, research, and consultancy services, has appointed John Taylor as Publications Manager, joining us as an important addition to our expanding Publications Team.
This strategic appointment will increase the volume of high-quality guidance, reports, brochures, how-to-guides, and more, while accelerating the digital transformation of BSRIA’s content. A key part of Taylor's remit will be to help transition BSRIA's publications to be more digitally enabled and accessible.
Taylor will evolve content delivery from traditional, long-form PDF documents to more digestible and user-friendly formats. This will meet industry professionals' needs for fast, accessible, and engaging content.
Taylor brings over 20 years of experience in the built environment, encompassing building services design, energy management, carbon management, retrofit, and building optimisation. Taylor’s particular areas of expertise include mechanical services design, building controls, smart buildings, energy surveys and optimisation of existing buildings, retrofit, building operation and maintenance, and net zero strategy.
He will work with specialist authors across the range of BSRIA guides, from design through to construction, commissioning, handover, and ongoing maintenance.
Lisa Ashworth, BSRIA CEO, commented: "John's appointment is a key part of our strategy to build on our reputation for excellence in publications. His experience in both building services and digital transformation will be vital as we enhance how we deliver our industry-leading guidance.”
Commenting on his new role, Taylor said: "My focus is on continuing the great work already being done, ensuring our publications maintain their hallmark values of being independent, practical, and having high technical rigour.
“We want to make this vital content more accessible and digestible in a digital world, building confidence for the reader in BSRIA's skills and capabilities."
This announcement follows other recent hires, namely Paul Greatbatch as Chief Technology Officer (see Driving a digital first transformation as BSRIA hires new Chief Technology Officer) and Lisa Wiltshire as Business Manager; Market Intelligence (see BSRIA strengthens market intelligence division with key appointment) to drive BSRIA’s digital transformation and enhance its customer offerings.
