Z beam
A Z-beam, also called a Z-section (or Zee Purlin in the US) is a design of beam that is shaped in a similar way to the letter Z. This is a common type of structural component, usually employed as a secondary strut or purlin within steel frames. These elements are typically roll formed and span across above the main steel frames, beneath the roof covering. Other types of steel beams or sections include C-sections (or channels) , I-sections, T-sections and L-sections.
