Yellowjacket health and safety management tool
YellowJacket is an easy-to-use, cloud-based health and safety management tool that facilitates the management of quality, environmental, health and safety performance, helping improve safety, meet quality standards and reach environmental targets.
YellowJacket has been integral to the safe delivery of projects such as the Shard, the Olympic Stadium and Birmingham New Street Station. It can be used across a project, an organisation or down through a supply chain and can be operated on a desktop PC, tablet or phone. Originally designed for the construction industry, its applicability to different situations means it is now used across a variety of sectors such as; retail, infrastructure, facilities, hospitality and logistics.
Its benefits include:
- Preventing accidents and loss.
- Managing quality and environmental issues.
- Achieving and proving compliance.
- Giving access to all data in one place.
- Giving instant access to management reports.
- Improving reporting and performance culture.
- Allowing the sharing of data throughout an organisation or supply chain.
YellowJacket was originally developed by Mace but was acquired by the BRE, on 16 July 2015 with a view to increasing its use in domestic and international markets. BRE is an independent, research-based consultancy, testing and training organisation, operating in the built environment and associated industries.
BRE Group’s Business Development Director, Miles Watkins, said ‘BRE sees a bright future for YellowJacket as the preferred health, safety and quality tool for the construction sector in the UK and overseas markets. Our plan is to invest in the further development of the application. More recognition for the tool and broader adoption will bring even greater value and opportunities to current users of the product.’
In June 2016, additional functionality was added allowing users to capture data around lost time on work packages and process types. Ref BRE Buzz Interview: New YellowJacket tool to help improve process efficiency.
