Sponsorship
Functional Standards Common Glossary, published by the Cabinet Office, defines sponsorship as: ‘A contractual engagement where an organisation pays for the rights ( exclusive or non-exclusive) to be associated with an activity. This may be financially or through the provision of products or services.’
It defines sponsoring group as: ‘The driving force behind a programme, which provides the investment decision and top-level endorsement for the rationale and objectives of the programme.’
And a sponsorship framework as: ‘The framework document sets out the broad parameters within which organisations will operate but does not convey any legal powers or responsibilities.’
