Ping pong
Apart from the game, in terms of construction, planning and law, ping-pong refers to the later stages of progression of a parliamentary Bill before coming an Act of Parliament. The ping-pong elements refers to the process whereby the bill travels back and forth between the House of Commons and the House of Lords to resolve disagreements on amendments. These back-and-forth changes continue until both Houses agree on the final wording of the document, after which the Bill most likely receives Royal Assent to become law.
"'Ping-pong' refers to the to and fro of amendments to Bills between the House of Commons and the House of Lords." https://www.parliament.uk/site-information/glossary/ping-pong/
