Finalists for 2024 CIOB Awards revealed
The finalists of the Chartered Institute of Building’s (CIOB) coveted annual awards have been revealed.
Eighty construction leaders and companies from across the UK have been selected for a chance to win a variety of awards, with categories including Rising Star, Team of the Year, and the decorated Construction Manager of the Year crown.
There will also be awards specifically for sustainability and equality, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) following their successful debuts in last year’s competition.
Finalists will gather at a glittering black-tie ceremony in London in 2024 where the winners will be announced.
Caroline Gumble, Chief Executive Officer at CIOB, said: “The CIOB Awards has long been a showcase for the very best of leadership and talent in our sector and this year is no different, with more than 80 individuals and companies making the list of finalists.
“Many congratulations to all our finalists and I look forward to seeing many of them in the spring of next year at our wonderful awards event, this time in its new London home.”
Kier Construction’s Joe O’Connell MCIOB scooped the coveted Construction Manager of the Year award in 2022 for his work in helping to deliver an ultra-energy efficient leisure centre for Exeter City Council. Joe’s team also scooped the Team of the Year prize.
Speaking after picking up his award, Joe said: “Winning the coveted title of CIOB Construction Manager of the Year is a career high and I am delighted to have been chosen for the industry's most prestigious award.”
Judges go through a rigorous assessment process to select finalists for each category, which includes assessing written applications, conducting site visits and hosting panel interviews.
The full list of finalists can be found on the dedicated CIOB Awards website.
