Burping
“Burping” a room is a technique often used to refresh or improve air circulation in a closed space. The term typically describes briefly opening doors or windows to allow fresh air to flow in and replace the stale or humid indoor air, much like opening a container briefly to release built-up gases.
Burping can be helpful in spaces with limited ventilation to:
- Reduce stuffiness by introducing fresh air.
- Lower indoor humidity to prevent mould or mildew growth.
- Remove odours that accumulate in closed environments.
Burping may involve setting up a fan to quickly move the air out and let fresh air in.
