BREEAM, LEED or WELL

[edit] Introduction
In 2009, BSRIA took a closer look at BREEAM and LEED, after the latter had started to make inroads into the market for environmental assessment methods. BSRIA's new 12-page white paper BREEAM, LEED or WELL revisits the topic to see how things have evolved in the market over the past 10 years.
[edit] White paper highlights
Key features are given for BREEAM, LEED and WELL, and comparisons are made between the three schemes.
The 'Spot the Differences' section of the white paper includes several charts, including one that provides an overview of the difference schemes. Information such as introduction date, rating levels, number of projects certified in the UK and so on are presented side by side for quick comparisons. Two additional charts document the strengths and weaknesses of each scheme.
The closing section of the white paper goes beyond the sustainability aspects of the schems and raises the topic of their social value. The White Paper also discusses issues of energy, wellbeing and the performance gap.
The white paper is free to download from the BSRIA website.
