Band heaters
A band heater is a resistance heating element that wraps around a pipe or tube usually made from stainless steel externally with an integrated clamp. The core if the heater is heating element, wrapped in a durable insulating material such as ceramic, mineral or mica designed to with stand high temperatures and direct the heat inwards to the duct or pipe, or simply aluminium. Many of these systems may also be supplied wth a secondary mineral insulating jacket to the outside face.
Band heaters are usually found in industrial applications where even heat is required with fast heating speeds that can reach over 700 degrees C. Such heaters might be found in the food industry, plastic and metal moulding processes, chemical production and packaging. Other types of band systems are design for cooling such as air cooled ceramic band heaters and can vary in size, up to the size of a barrel and shape, wth rectangular heaters and so fourth.
