Airtightness and thermal integrity strategy
The RIBA Passivhaus Overlay, published by the RIBA in 2022, states in relation to the airtightness and thermal integrity strategy: “The Airtightness and Thermal Integrity Strategy is not just red (airtightness) and blue (wind barrier) line strategy drawings which encapsulate the insulation, it also includes all construction details, a regime for training trades, testing mock-ups prior to implementation and planning the blower door test regime (particularly relevant for larger buildings). More detailed guidance is available in the Passivhaus Trust’s Demystifying airtightness: good practice guide (2020) and Thermal bypass risks: a technical review ( 2022).”
