Guidance on the code of practice for property flood resilience, published by CIRIA in 2021, defines telemetry as an: ‘Automated communications process by which data are collected from instruments located at remote or inaccessible points and transmitted to receiving equipment for measurement, monitoring, display, and recording. In relation to floods, this helps with forecasting when water levels are reaching critical points.
