Asset management information
PAS 55-1:2008, Asset Management: Part 1: Specification for the optimized management of physical assets, written by the Institute of Asset Management, and published by BSi in September 2008, defines asset management information as: ‘meaningful data relating to assets and asset management. NOTE Examples of asset management information include asset registers, drawings, contracts, licences, legal, regulatory and statutory documents, policies, standards, guidance notes, technical instructions, procedures, operating criteria, asset performance and condition data, or all asset management records.’
It defines an asset management information system as a: 'system for the storage, processing and transmission of asset management information NOTE The storage or transmission of asset information can be achieved via multiple types of media.'
