Water supply licence

Water Bill, Glossary: water terms, published by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in November 2013, states: ‘A water supply licence will allow entry into the competitive water supply market for the purpose of providing retail and/or upstream services. A licensee may hold one or more of four “authorisations” within a water supply licence.’

It defines a water supply licensee as: ‘The holder of a water supply licence.’
