Pressurisation of Closed Heating and Cooling Systems (BG82 2022), by Rob Clemson, published by BSRIA in October 2022, defines a break tank as: ‘A backflow protection device, for the purposes of this guide utilised in top-up pressurisation equipment coupled with a weir overflow to provide fluid category 5 protection under the Water Regulations.’
