Human in scale
The London Plan, Published by the Mayor of London in March 2016, suggests that ‘human in scale’ refers to: ‘…providing a high quality environment in which buildings, places and spaces are accessible, easy to navigate and understand. This can be through the use of gateways, focal points and landmarks, as well as ensuring buildings create a positive relationship with street level activity and people feel comfortable within their surroundings. Organisations such as CABE as well as the Mayor’s Design Advice Panel can provide design related advice.
