Commissioning Water Systems (BG 2/2010) by Parsloe C, published by BSRIA in September 2010, defines chemical cleaning as: ‘The removal of deposits such as scale, corrosion and biofilm from the internal surfaces of pipework by treatment with chemicals and in accordance with a formal procedure.’
