Water Industry Approved Plumbers Scheme WIAPS
The Water Industry Approved Plumbers Scheme (WIAPS) is a UK Approved Contractors’ Scheme. It is administered by Water Regs UK on behalf of the UK water undertakers and operates in most areas of England and Wales.
WIAPS provides water industry backed accreditation to qualified plumbers and other sector workers. Membership is free for plumbers, groundworkers and reduced pressure zone (RPZ) valve testers, but fees apply for other sector schemes.
WIAPS accredited plumbers must comply with The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 for every installation and issue a certificate stating that the work complies with the Regulations. WIAPS plumbers must also be available to be audited periodically by the local water company.
