Constructor
ICMS: Global Consistency in Presenting Construction Life Cycle Costs and Carbon Emissions, 3rd edition, November 2021, published by the ICMS (International Cost Management Standard) Coalition, defines constructor as: ‘A collective term for the organisations (contractors, sub-contractors, service providers, suppliers) paid by a Client to implement the construction of a Project or part thereof, in some cases including providing funding, design, management, maintenance and operation services as applicable. In the context of other Life Cycle Costs after construction, it means the organisations undertaking the renewal or maintenance works.’
PAS 2080:2023 Carbon management in buildings and infrastructure, second edition, published by The British Standards Institution in March 2023, defines the constructor as the: ‘…entity that undertakes work to construct, build, maintain, repair, replace, disassemble or demolish an asset or network NOTE A constructor can be an asset owner/manager or a product/material supplier.’
