Construction quality
The RIBA Plan of Work 2020 suggests that construction quality refers to: ‘The quality of workmanship (and other factors, such as tolerances) defined in the Employer’s Requirements and/or Final Specifications and Building Regulations that the construction team must comply with. To confirm that the contractor is meeting these Construction Quality requirements, it is common for regular inspections to be carried out.’
It suggests that inspection requirements need to be clearly determined at the outset, and that a regular (usually monthly) construction quality report on might be produced for the client, assessing whether manufacturing and construction on the project are compliant.
