Room air cleaners
Illustrated Guide to Ventilation (BG 2/2009), compiled by Kevin Pennycook and published by BSRIA in 2009, states in relation to room air cleaners: ‘Air cleaners are stand-alone air circulation and filtration devices used to remove particulate and/or gaseous contaminants from within a defined space. Particulate filtration can be by high efficiency filters or electrostatic air cleaners, usually protected by primary filters. An activated carbon filter is sometimes included in an attempt to remove odours.’
