Reverberation time
Approved document E: Resistance to the passage of sound, 2003 edition incorporating 2004, 2010, 2013 and 2015 amendments, defines reverberation as: ‘The persistence of sound in a space after a sound source has been stopped.’ It defines reverberation time as: ‘The time, in seconds, taken for the sound to decay by 60dB after a sound source has been stopped.’
