Gradients
Approved document M1 of the building regulations defines the following gradients:
| Not exceeding 1:60 | Level |
| 1:60 to 1:20 | Gently sloping |
| 1:20 to 1:12 | Ramped |
| Greater than 1:15 | Steeply sloping (in relation to plot gradients - that is the gradient measured between the entrance storey finished floor level of the dwelling and the point of access). |
