Open vented system
Pressurisation of Closed Heating and Cooling Systems (BG82 2022), by Rob Clemson, published by BSRIA in October 2022, defines an open vented system as: ‘A system in which the water is exposed to the atmosphere, usually via a feed and expansion tank.’
BG 87/2024, Useful Information Guide, written by Chin Hang “Kay” Lam and published by BSRIA in 2024, defines an open vented system as: ‘A hydronic heating or cooling system in which the water is exposed to the atmosphere, usually via a feed and expansion tank.’
