Milestone 3,000 Chartered Project Professionals

APM is celebrating excellence within projects by adding the 3,000th Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) to its register.

The milestone figure reflects the growing recognition of ChPP status and the value of professional development across the profession, as well as the importance of projects in terms of social benefits.

Chartered status is a professional benchmark which enables those who meet the required standard to demonstrate a defined level of technical knowledge, professional practice and ethical behaviour across industry.

Professionals of all ages, from a wide range of industry sectors and professional backgrounds make up the 3,000 successful ChPPs to date.

The benefits of gaining ChPP for project practitioners include:

For the first time this year, in recognition of the growing value placed on chartered, APM is introducing a Chartered Project Professional of the Year award at its annual awards ceremony, taking place in November. The award will recognise ChPPs who have consistently demonstrated a dedication to improving their skills and ethical practice, resulting in successful project delivery.

This year also sees the introduction of the revised chartered standard at APM. The revised standard carries forward APM’s current chartered standard including the name, rigour and routes, but welcomes a new alignment to APM’s Competence Framework 3rd edition and further developments that build on its accessibility and relevance to those who operate in the ever-growing profession. All applications for the revised chartered standard will open from September 2023.
