Golden thread factsheet
A factsheet from the UK Government on the golden thread was published in November 2021. The factsheet provides more information about the golden thread, one of the key provisions of the Building Safety Bill.
The golden thread is both:
- The information about a building that allows someone to understand a building and keep it safe, and
- The information management to ensure the information is accurate, easily understandable, can be accessed by those who need it and is up to date.
The factsheet covers the what, how and who of the golden thread after the Hackitt review of the building regulations and fire safety, final report which is supported by the building a safer future charter, consisting of five commitments to protecting life by putting safety first, ahead of all other building priorities.
