General Product Safety Regulations 2005
"The General Product Safety Regulations 2005 provide the basis for ensuring the safety of consumer goods by setting requirements and providing a range of provisions to secure enforcement of, and compliance with, the requirements." Government published Construction Products Reform White Paper 26 February, 2026.
The General Product Safety Regulations 2005 (SI 2005/1803) is a statutory instrument of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that demands that "No producer shall [supply or] place a [consumer] product on the market unless the product is a safe product" (reg. 5(1)) and provides broad enforcement powers.
