Cross wall construction
Offsite residential construction, Glossary of terms, published by Buildoffsite in 2018, defines a cross wall construction as a: ‘Multi-storey structure where the walls are designed as the means of primary support. Longitudinal stability is achieved by external wall panels and/or diaphragm action involving the floors and roof, connected back to lift cores or staircases, which may also be formed by precast wall panels or shaft units.’
