Territory
Glossary of the Information System of the Council of Europe Landscape Convention, Spatial planning and landscape, No. 106, published by the Council of Europe in 2018, defines territory as: ‘…the term used when the focus is on the way in which people have appropriated a specific space through legal and social systems. Territories are usually extensive and precisely delineated, particularly within political or administrative boundaries, sometimes backed by natural elements (ridges, rivers).'
