Security incident
Functional Standards Common Glossary, published by the Cabinet Office, states: ‘In the context of security, incident is any circumstance that arises where assets may be damaged, compromised, lost or leaked as a result of: policy or codes of conduct; existing security measures or controls; or something that requires an action/ response, following a direct threat or individual action, or to prevent any of the above. These could be accidental or deliberate acts by those internal or external to the department.’
