Paleoclimate
Climate Change 2021, The Physical Science Basis, published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2021, defines paleoclimate as: ‘Climate during periods prior to the development of measuring instruments, including historic and geologic time, for which only proxy climate records are available.’
