Oscillating tool
Short Guide, Lime Mortars in Traditional Buildings, published on 1 March 2013 by Historic Scotland, defines an oscillating tool as: ‘A mechanical (power) tool with blades that move back and forth, rather than in a rotary motion. Oscillating tools are thought to be less damaging to masonry than rotary grinders.’
