Orifice plate (OP) flow measurement device
Energy Efficient Pumping Systems, a design guide (BG 12/2011), written by Chris Parsloe and published by BSRIA in 2011, states: ‘A fixed orifice plate flow measurement device is a fixed orifice across which pressure tappings are located. By measuring the pressure differential across the orifice, flow rate can be calculated using the orifice manufacturer’s published flow coefficient data.’
