Locally listed building
High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, defines a locally listed building as: ‘A building which is not listed under Section 69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 but has been recognised by the local planning authority as making a positive contribution to its local character and sense of place because of its heritage value.’
