Improvised explosive device
Security Overlay to the RIBA Plan of Work, published by the RIBA in 2023, states: ‘Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) may be delivered via a vehicle, person or via the postal system. The effects can include a blast load and fragments from the device, resulting in damage to the building’s interior and exterior, and injury to people inside or outside the building.’
