Environmental Project Management
The description of the Industrial Wastewater Treatment is about the process applied for treatment and purification of wastewater resulted from industry’s production lines as an undesirable by-product. After treatment, the effluent- the treated or untreated wastewater- might be released or reused to a sanitary canal or sewer or even to the surface water in the environment. Recent trends have been conducted to prevent or minimize such a problematic production or to reused purified wastewater within the manufacturing lines. The objectives of this research was to investigate issues and obstacles of waste water treatment plant during the process of its preparation, establishment and maintenance in industrial city of Alborz state in Iran. This research aims to indicate the most effective factors in the whole process of Environmental Management Project in order to minimize or diminish the drawbacks and negative consequences considering the effectiveness of those factors. For the present research, a descriptive method has been considered and data has been collected by the questionnaire through interview and distribution of the questionnaires after getting permission from the company principals. The distributed questionnaires were completed by relative employees of industrial factories in Alborz state. In the process of preparing the questionnaire, each question has been determined and investigated separately to fulfill the objectives of the research entirely. Grounded research theory which is applicable for the project management system, Likert scales, Comparative Scaling Technique and Rank Order Scaling have been utilized to provide the questionnaire. The findings of the study indicated that out of 306 factories, the number of 223 factories have responded the questions and only 160 of them currently have established the wastewater treatment plant. The highest value of 37% of these selected factories have responded that the ‘Governmental Obligation or national regulation’ has been the most effective factors for them to establish the treatment plant whereas they hadn’t been worried about the organizational necessity or commitment to the sustainable environment. Moreover, financial deficits by 25% and fearing of the future difficulties such as unpredicted costs and maintenance by 22% have been the most selected items in the primary levels of preparation for establishment. Wrong budget estimation by 27% and safety issues by 30% have been the most selected items during the process of establishment and costly procedure including equipment and controlling devices and staff by 39% and unsuccessful result by 23% have been the most critics and worries by the respondents in the maintenance stage.
