Ecosystem approach
Water for life and livelihoods, River basin management plans, Glossary, Published by the Environment Agency in 2016, states: ‘The ecosystem approach is a strategy for the integrated management of land, water and living resources that promotes conservation and sustainable use in an equitable way. It is a way of looking at the natural environment that allows the value of the natural environment to be taken in to account during environmental decision making.’
