Cost advisor
Roles in construction projects: analysis and terminology, by Hughes, W. and Murdoch, J. R, published in 2001 by the University of Reading, suggests a cost advisor is: ‘Usually used where there is only one source for financial advice in the project. This term also implies that this role need not necessarily be undertaken by a qualified professional quantity surveyor.’

It suggests that the lead cost advisor is: The cost advisor with overall responsibility for the project, responsible for coordinating diverse inputs of cost advice.’
