Chronostratigraphy
Green infrastructure and open environments: London’s foundations: protecting the geodiversity of the capital, Supplementary Planning Guidance, published by the Mayor of London in March 2012, defines Chronostratigraphy as: ‘The branch of stratigraphy linked to the concept of time. Chronostratigraphical units are defined as bodies of rock that formed during a specific interval of geologic time. Chronostratigraphical units are thus special rock bodies that are conceptual, as well as being material.’
