Banding
Safety in the storage and handling of steel and other metal stock, second edition, published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in 2016, defines banding (or bunding) as: ‘Metal strapping or wire put around stock to form bundles or hold coils in shape, and around stock on pallets/timbers to secure it to the pallet. Plastic and fabric strapping is sometimes used as an alternative.’
