Absorption cooling
The Illustrated Guide to Renewable Technologies BG 1/2008, By Kevin Pennycook, published by BSRIA in March 2008, states: ‘Absorption refrigeration chillers can be used in conjunction with combined heat and power (CHP) systems to produce chilled water for air conditioning purposes. Absorption refrigeration can also be used to provide cooling using heat from a solar energy source. Potential solar sources are flat-plate collectors (water or air), evacuated tube collectors, and parabolic concentrators.’
