Laydown area
A laydown area is an area used for the receipt, temporary storage, and sometimes for the assembly of construction equipment and other supplies. It may also allow parking and access and may provide welfare facilities and utilities.
A laydown area may be near to, or on the construction site and may be covered with a surface of rock or gravel to allow vehicles to manoeuvre, or may be paved if necessary. Secure fencing and access control will generally be necessary, as well as the careful recording of items received, stored or used.
