Culvert, screen and outfall manual, (CIRIA C786) published by CIRIA in 2019, defines trash as: ‘Any buoyant or semi-buoyant material carried by the flow of water in a channel that could accumulate inside a culvert to form a blockage, and will accumulate on a screen.’
