Centralised mechanical extract ventilation
Climate Emergency, Conservation Area Toolkit – England, published by the Architects Climate Action Network in 2022, defines centralised mechanical extract ventilation (cMEV) as a: ‘…system that extracts moist stale air from all wet rooms via ducts to one central larger fan combined with background ventilators (to admit fresh external air) to all living spaces and bedrooms.’
