Biocide
BG 29/2021 Pre-Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems, Amended 6th edition, written by Chris Parsloe and Martin Ronceray, published by BSRIA in partnership with the Closed Systems Control Association (CSCA) in March 2021, defines a biocide as: ‘A chemical agent which either kills or prevents the multiplication of organisms in water systems.’
Water Treatment for Closed Heating and Cooling Systems (BG 50/2021), second edition, by Dr Pamela Simpson, published by BSRIA in 2021, defines a bactericide as: ‘A biocide effective against bacteria.’
