System constraint

The Energy White Paper, Powering our Net Zero Future (CP 337), published in December 2020 by HM Government, defines a system constraint as: ‘A limit or restriction, which the current system does not have the ability to go beyond. For example, when electricity from a particular location is unable to be transported to the location of demand, due to restrictions on the network.’
