Rill
The SuDS Manual (C753) published by CIRIA in 2015, defines a rill as: ‘A small, shallow channel with flowing water.’
Biodiversity in new housing developments: creating wildlife-friendly communities, published by the NHBC Foundation in April 2021 defines a rill as a: ‘Hard landscaped linear SuDS channels used to move (convey) water between each treatment stage of a SuDS management train. Constructed from impervious materials. (Compare swales).’
