Planning system
According to ‘Delivering better water management through the planning system’ (C787A), published by CIRIA in 2019, the term ‘planning system’ means:
‘…the English and Welsh land-use planning systems following national policy set out in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and Planning Policy Wales (PPW) and its implementation through local plans (including strategic and joint plans) and neighbourhood plans in England, and through local development plans and place plans in Wales. The definition includes documents associated with these plans, ie supplementary planning documents, supplementary planning guidance, and associated documents, eg infrastructure delivery plans, master plans and IMW (Integrated Water Management) strategies.’
