Monopile
High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, defines a monopile as: ‘A single large diameter pile with significant vertical and lateral load carrying capacity. It is used as an alternative to a pile group.’
