Microwave
Technical paper 35: Moisture measurement in the historic environment, published by Historic Environment Scotland in 2021, defines microwaves as: ‘A form of electromagnetic energy with wavelengths ranging approximately from 1 to 300 GHz.’
The term ‘microwave’ can also refer to an electric oven that uses electromagnetic radiation in the microwave frequency range to cook or heat food quickly.
